Nothing compares to the escape I feel while settling in my kitchen to cook an old favorite recipe or try out a new cooking technique. It’s the same sort of comfort and liberation you get when you’re enthralled in a great book and you can’t put it down.

This is how I’ve felt my entire life. I started cooking around the age of 3 when I would stand on a chair in the kitchen and help my mom assemble lasagna. And throughout my life I’ve always been drawn to the kitchen and learning about recipes, ingredients, techniques — you name it.

In my mid twenties I started creating and writing my own recipes, desperately seeking a creative outlet to put these ideas finally down on paper. Now that I’m a bit older, it’s time for my newest transition — sharing recipes and ideas with a community that I hope to grow within Blossoming Menu, rooted in true passion for food.

Now, I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband, orange Tabby, and Labrador Retriever, and as I grow older, advancing in my culinary knowledge and picking up new hobbies such as gardening has only further fueled my hunger to be in the kitchen. I’m so excited to start this journey with you and not only share what I’m passionate about but hear about your thoughts and passions as well. Cheers!
